Korede Demola-Adeniyi is a finance executive who leads global banks and other financial entities to significant revenue increases and more productive business partnerships. She creates products and forms partnerships that ensure growth and prosperity well into the future.
As the Head of the Consumer Division of Ecobank Nigeria Limited, Korede directs more than 400 employees under a $75M operations budget and $22M in revenue. In just two years, she has increased sales performance by 30%. She also increased revenue by 26% in one year by driving the use of digital platforms after the business had previously recorded a negative PBT.
Previously, as the Group Head of Personal Banking for Ecobank, Korede enhanced the bank’s brand visibility by partnering with global corporations. She eased the travel burden for customers and added a revenue source by signing an agreement with a concierge provider. Two countries won internal awards for significant improvement in their customer experience after Korede set up dedicated contact centres in Nigeria and the UEMOA region.
Korede also has extensive experience in treasury management; she spent the first ten years of her career in treasury, where she was a dealer in local and foreign currencies and later as a balance sheet manager for the Ecobank group.
As a member of the Board of Directors for Old Mutual Insurance, Korede has chartered the company’s path toward a financially soluble business relationship by creating a workshop to inform all Ecobank stakeholders about insurance company activities.
Korede earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics from the University of Benin. She received her Treasury Dealership Certificate from the Money Market Association of Nigeria. She also trained in Leadership and Diversity for Innovation at the Women’s World Banking program at Wharton School, the Women’s Leadership Programme at the Yale School of Management, Setting New Professional Directions at Harvard Business School, and the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.
An astute reader, mentor and volunteer, Korede has gained tremendous experience across Africa concerning managing change and governance. She is a United for Kids Foundation (UKF) and Toastmasters International member. She is passionate about non-interest banking and financial inclusion amongst women.
